When applying a seal coat to asphalt pavement, we use the following;
- Two coats applied at a rate of 45 to 60 square feet per gallon. Application will consist of coal tar sealer containing 4 lbs. of 68 sieve washed silica sand per concentrated gallon of sealer and 3% coal tar enhancer added.
- Seal cleaned cracks with ASTM-D3405 hot rubberized crack sealant. Crack repair is limited to individual sealable cracks 1/8" and larger. Crack clustered areas, alligators, will have the perimeter and adequate random cracks sealed in an attempt to contain deterioration.
- Restripe using VOC safe waterborne acrylic based traffic paint.
Commercial Asphalt Overlays
Overtime, asphalt pavements develop surfaces damages as a result of normal wear and tear, as well as, inclement weather conditions, natural elements, and more. To recover the appeal and performance of worn asphalt, MSCSI typically recommends milling and overlay services .
Milling
Milling is the process of removing the top layer of asphalt to a specific depth without disturbing the underlying sub-base. We will then level all/any low spots, adjust any sewers that need adjustments. Finally we will apply SS-1 tack coat adhesive and install 2” of hot bituminous asphalt surface mix, roll and compact

Restripe
